The classic Telemark Canal trip runs the full length from Skien to Dalen aboard the historic M/S Victoria or M/S Henrik Ibsen, a full day on the water through a long series of locks. The 2026 online fare is NOK 1555 one way for adults, while children aged 4 to 15 pay NOK 300 each regardless of distance and under-4s travel free. Shorter legs cost less, for example NOK 320 from Skien to Loveid. There is no honnor discount, bookings by phone or on board cost extra, and bicycles are NOK 300 per leg. The 2026 season ran from 18 May to 3 October; the boats rest over winter and normally return in mid-May. Boat- and-bus packages bring you back to your starting point.
