Northern lights season runs from September to early April, and tours are running now. A standard small-group minibus chase costs about NOK 2200 per adult with Chasing Lights, up to 15 guests, or Wandering Owl, and from NOK 1950 with Arctic Explorers. These include thermal suits, a warm meal, hot drinks, tripods and a gallery of professional photos. Big-bus chases for up to 50 people cost from NOK 950 to NOK 1100, with children aged 0 to 12 from NOK 660 on the Chasing Lights big bus, but you bring your own warm clothing and food. Tours last 5 to 10 hours, leave around 17:00 to 18:30 and may cross into Finland, so carry your passport. Some small-group tours set a minimum age of 6, and there is no refund if the sky stays dark.
