What to know
Cradle Mountain is deliberately priced differently from the rest of Tasmania's parks, and the ordinary per-vehicle daily pass does not cover it. Buy the Cradle Mountain Icon Daily Pass, charged per person: A$30.70 adult, A$12.30 for children 5 to 17, A$73.75 for two adults and three children, under-fives free. Crucially that price includes the shuttle bus from the visitor centre to Dove Lake, which is the only practical way in during the day because private vehicles are shut out while the shuttle runs. If you arrive instead on a Holiday Pass, which is A$98.35 per vehicle or A$49.20 per person for two months across all parks, the shuttle is not included and costs a further A$15.50 per adult for 72 hours, with under-18s free. Multi-day Overland Track walkers pay a separate booking fee that covers the shuttle.
