What to know
The plaza and gardens are free from 06:00. Going inside costs IDR 8,000 for the museum in the base, or 24,000 for the combined ticket that adds the Independence Room and the top observation deck - the deck is not sold on its own. Children and students pay 6,000. Two practical things that catch people out: payment is CASHLESS ONLY, by JakCard or Bank DKI card, with a JakCard costing 50,000 at the counter including 20,000 of credit; and there is no online booking at all. Closed Mondays. The top deck reopened in April 2026 and runs timed sessions with a small lift, so it sells out. Graded low because the city's own ticket site is currently down for repair.
