No admission charge for anyone. Parking or transport may still cost.
Nothing is charged for the lake or for landing on Samosir - there is no gate and no island levy. The cost is the crossing and it is small: the vehicle ferry from Ajibata to Ambarita is IDR 16,700 a foot passenger, and the wooden passenger boat from Tomok about 6,000, running fifteen times a day. Taking a car across is charged by vehicle class. Individual sites on the island - the Simanindo royal house, the stone tombs at Tomok - ticket separately.

The planner warns of wet in September, October, November. Outside those months it says nothing, which is the point — a warning that fires every day is one nobody reads.
