What to know
Kangaroo Island has no single admission and the ferry is the real cost. SeaLink sails Cape Jervis to Penneshaw daily except Christmas Day, from A$49 each way for an adult and A$25.50 for a child aged 3 to 14, with under-threes free and the car charged separately from A$99 each way for vehicles up to five metres, so a couple with a vehicle pays roughly A$394 return. Flinders Chase National Park, which holds Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch, charges per person on top: A$14.90 an adult for one day, or A$95 buys a twelve-month Kangaroo Island Tour Pass that also covers Seal Bay and Kelly Hill Caves. The 2019-20 fires burnt most of Flinders Chase, but the boardwalks and a new visitor centre have been rebuilt and the bush has regrown.
