2 adults and 2 children aged 6 and 14, priced against this venue’s own published age bands.
There is no admission to the reef itself, only boat fares, and there is no single ticket. Day trips to the outer reef pontoons run about A$312 to A$338 for adults: Great Adventures charges A$312 adult and A$172 child from Cairns, Sunlover A$317 and A$177 to Moore Reef, and Quicksilver A$338 and A$179 to Agincourt Reef, though Quicksilver sails from Port Douglas rather than Cairns. Fares include lunch, snorkel gear, a semi-submersible tour and the A$8.50 government Environmental Management Charge, which is not levied on children under 4. Budget extra, though: Great Adventures and Quicksilver both add a fuel surcharge of A$10 per adult and A$5 per child, and card fees of around 1.42 per cent apply. Confirm the charge is included before paying, as operators differ.
