Alesund's large aquarium of North Atlantic sea life sits on the shore just west of the town and is open all year. Admission is NOK 275 for adults and NOK 135 for children aged 3 to 15, with under-3s free, and one ticket covers the aquarium, science centre and aquaculture exhibition. There is no student discount and no reduced day ticket for seniors; the 67+ rate applies only to annual passes. An adult annual pass costs NOK 695 and a family pass for two adults and four children NOK 1950, worthwhile if you return. Autumn hours run from about 09:30 or 10:00 to 16:00. Bus 1 from the centre stops about a 10 to 15 minute walk away.
