What to know
Two separate costs. The regency levies IDR 50,000 on a foreign visitor and 25,000 on an Indonesian just to enter the Kintamani caldera, which is charged on the road and has nothing to do with climbing. The climb itself needs a registered guide from the local association, which publishes no tariff at all - complete trips including transfers, guide and breakfast are sold from around USD 55 a head. Batur is an active volcano and the summit closes when the alert level rises.
