What to know

The Hunter Valley around Pokolbin is a wine region, not a venue, so there is no entry fee and no gate. Your cost is the cellar door tasting fee, charged per person at each winery you visit. Audrey Wilkinson lists a 45-minute standard tasting at A$15 and a seated premium tasting at A$20, with a 60-minute Heritage Cellar museum-release tasting at A$40. Brokenwood charges A$25 for its 45-minute Taste Experience and A$75 for the seated Match flight with canapes. Budget A$15 to A$25 per person per cellar door for a standard tasting, more for seated or food-matched sittings, and book ahead at weekends. Fees are sometimes waived against a bottle purchase. Driving between wineries means a designated driver or a tour.

Minimum age 18.
