What to know
FREE. One of very few mosques in the Gulf open to non-Muslims, and the single most-visited sight in Oman. Non-Muslim hours are 08:00-11:00 only, and not on Fridays. Strict modest dress: women must cover hair, arms and legs. An entry charge of OMR 8.400 was introduced in January 2025 and withdrawn within three weeks - confirm before travelling in case it returns.

When to go
The planner warns of extreme heat in June; and hot in May, July, August, September, October. Outside those months it says nothing, which is the point — a warning that fires every day is one nobody reads.
