What to know
A national park permit is legally required and has been sold at Ampana and Gorontalo harbours since 2017, but the park publishes no tariff anywhere and the only concrete foreigner figure traceable is from 2018 - too old to repeat. Collection is patchy enough that the park recorded under half the arrivals the tourism office counted in 2025. What is better evidenced is getting there: the Ampana ferry to Wakai is roughly 75,000 to 100,000 and takes five or six hours, a daily speedboat about 130,000 to 170,000 in ninety minutes.
