No admission charge for anyone. Parking or transport may still cost.
No official entry or conservation fee is charged at Derawan, and this is worth stating plainly because visitors have reported paying IDR 30,000 at the island. Berau's tourism head said publicly that this was levied unilaterally by a resort operator without the regency's knowledge or the village's agreement, and the regency opened a free alternative beach access in response. The regency's tourist retribution does exist but applies to four named mainland sites, not to these islands. The real cost is the speedboat from Tanjung Batu, 150,000 a person, or 800,000 to charter a small one.

The planner warns of wet in January, February. Outside those months it says nothing, which is the point — a warning that fires every day is one nobody reads.
