What to know
The surprise here is that there is NO grounds-only ticket for a foreign visitor - the operator sells the courtyard admission to Indonesians only, so the cheapest lawful entry for a visitor is the temple climb at IDR 455,000 adult / 305,000 child (3-10), free under 3. Indonesians pay 150,000 to climb or from 50,000 for the grounds. The price covers a compulsory licensed guide, the Upanat sandals you keep, and the shuttle. Entry is by timed session, eight a day from 08:30, and must be booked ahead. IMPORTANT for now: restoration of the main stupa from 16 September to 24 October 2026 limits the climb to the lower terraces and closes the north grounds.
