Booked online, Taronga Zoo Sydney costs A$51.30 for an adult and A$29.70 for a child aged 4 to 15; at the gate those become A$57 and A$33. Under-fours are free. A family ticket for two adults and two children is A$144 online against A$162 at the gate, so it is worth taking. Concession entry is A$38.70 online with a valid Australian Seniors, Pension or student card. The Sky Safari cable car no longer runs and is being replaced, so plan on walking the steep 28-hectare site or paying A$5 each way for the Wildlife Express shuttle. The zoo opens daily, 9.30am to 5pm from September to April. It is cashless, and ferry-plus-entry packages are sold separately by harbour cruise operators.
