    How CostMyTravel works

From choosing a country to keeping the finished plan — it takes a few minutes.

    1. 1

      Pick where you are going

Choose one of twenty countries and the places you want to see.

Where do you want to go? New Zealand Search countries, regions or a place by name.

Everything after this — prices, the currency, the drive times — follows the country.

    2. 2

      Add stops to a day

Every card has a button that puts the place on a day.

      Milford Sound cruise+ Skyline gondola+ Hobbiton+

+ Day adds another. Drag a stop by its handle to move it between days.

    3. 3

      Watch the total

Where a venue publishes nothing, the panel says so and offers Enter manually rather than guessing.

    4. 4

      Check the day works

Drive times, opening days, how long each stop takes, and the forecast.

      Auckland → Rotorua 3 h 15 min Open today 9:00–17:00 Typical visit 2–3 hrs

A day that overruns, or lands on a closing day, says so before you leave.

    5. 5

      Keep it or post it

Save the trip as a picture, print it, or take the link with you.

Everything you need to plan with confidence

Six things people usually open six tabs for.

Two things worth knowing. Prices are checked against a source and left blank rather than guessed, so a blank is a real answer and not an oversight. And nothing here needs an account: no sign-up, nothing booked through us, nothing to pay.

    Magic Planning

A first draft of a trip, built from the best-known places, how far apart they actually are, and what the sky is going to do. Four answers and a button.

Step 1 Where, and how long
    days

    For —, from the planner.

Step 2 Pace as much as fits, and longer drives to get it
Step 3 Staying near leave it open and each night is wherever the day ends
    Step 4 Trip style
Step 5 Ticket ceiling per person, tickets only

This is arithmetic, not advice. It picks the best-known places on the site, groups them into days by how far apart they actually are — measured both by the road times between their zones and by the straight line between their coordinates, whichever is worse — allows the time each one actually takes, and leaves out anything shut on the day it would fall on. One draft is one country, always. It knows nothing about what you like, which is what the controls above are for; and every day, every stop and the order of the days can be changed here or in My trip afterwards.
